Join us for Holy Week Services, April 10th – 17th
Holy Week begins next Sunday (4/10). Can you believe it? Our Holy Week observations begin with a Lenten Palm Sunday Walk on your way into church on Palm Sunday. Racquel and Dale are lining the Riverwalk behind the education building with reminders of our Lenten journey and a celebration of Jesus’ Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem. The walk will begin at the parking lot south of the education building and continue along the Barrington River leading to the church building. We encourage all who are able to walk this distance to enjoy this special way of entering church on Palm Sunday!
Lent will continue with a series of special services through the week. Dale will be leading daily morning meditations in the church library Monday through Friday (4/11–4/15) at 8 am. These brief meditations will include the reading of scripture, prayer, and moments of silence. They will finish up before 8:30 am.
Maundy Thursday evening (4/14) marks our annual Tenebrae service led by the deacons. This service will take place at 7 pm in the sanctuary and commemorates the last supper and crucifixion of Jesus.
On Good Friday (4/15), Racquel will host a Lenten walk at the Labyrinth with Prayers at the Cross from 6-7 pm. The labyrinth is located behind the education building close to the park and ride lot. Note: No Lent in the Labyrinth on 4/13.
Finally, we invite you to join us on Easter Sunday (4/17) at one or both of our Easter services. We will hold our ecumenical Sunrise service at 6 am at Osamaquin Point (heading north along Route 114) overlooking Hundred Acre Cove. We will then gather again in the sanctuary for our full service at our usual time of 10 am.
