It has been a long haul and we have endured much. However, today we are announcing our plan to move to multi-platform worship on June 27. This date is still only a target date, but it is one we believe we can achieve.

What does this mean? It means that if all goes according to plan, we will be hosting worship in-person AND online beginning June 27th. This service will take place at our usual summer worship time of 9:30. It will be held in the sanctuary following the then-current health guidelines defined by the CDC and RI Department of Health. It will be simultaneously available on Facebook Live and the church website.

We are excited by this announcement and hope it will provide a safe, meaningful, and immersive worship experience for those choosing to attend in-person or online. This has consistently been the stated goal of the Church Council and we are thrilled that we believe we will finally be able to provide it.

As the details of the health guidelines are constantly evolving, the Moving Forward Team will release more detailed information as to what the in-person experience will entail when we get closer to our target date. A lot will change between now and then.

Also, as a part of our moving forward plan we anticipate holding an in-person outdoor worship service on May 30th. This service will take place at 10:00AM along the river walk (behind the Ed Building) and will be in lieu of our virtual service. We will only have one service on that day.

Details are still being worked out for this service, but we anticipate having a “welcome table” as people arrive. All attendees will need to check in to provide for proper contact tracing. In addition, we will be sharing more detailed guidelines as they become clear.

We are excited to be able to offer this outdoor worship experience and invite everyone who wishes to attend. Please bring your own chair and anything else you feel you will need. The buildings will not be accessible on this morning.

Finally, this plan is weather permitting. If the weather is borderline or nice, we will be outside, in-person. If it is raining, we will move to online worship as a backup. Please check our Facebook page or the church website for last minute information on this possibility.
