Check out the latest on our COVID-19 precautions. (August 2021)

Please note that ‘all visitors’ referred to in the first bullet point for the education building requirements means both church people as well as those from outside groups using the building.

Looking forward to the fall, 2021, these are the recommendations from the Moving Forward Team. (Approved by Church Council with amendments in italics 8/12/21)

These recommendations are made for the purpose of planning ahead, with full knowledge that they will need to be modified throughout the fall as our experience of COVID-19 variants and guidance from the CDC and RIDOH change.

As it stands now, this is what we recommend having in place for September:

    • Worship in the sanctuary continue as it has with its current restrictions and multi-platform presence with the following changes
      • Hymnals and other materials can be returned to the pews
      • We invite congregational singing from all properly masked persons
      • We encourage the choir to return and be permitted to sing hymns and anthems (we have purchased special masks designed for choir singing that must be worn by choir members while singing)
      • Any musicians playing brass or woodwind instruments shall utilize approved cloth bell coverings on their instruments
    • The education building be opened to church and public use with the following requirements
      • All visitors attending meetings or events shall wear appropriate masks at all times
      • Hand sanitizer shall be made readily available for all attendees (this is the responsibility of the organization/individual holding the event)
      • An accurate copy of attendees and contact information shall be kept (this is the responsibility of the organization/individual holding the event)
      • Weather permitting, doors and windows are to be propped open
      • Any room or venue utilized by a group shall remain vacant for at least 20 hours before being utilized by a separate group

Again, these recommendations are made with the full knowledge that they will need to be modified (strengthened or relaxed) based on future data as it become available
